Crunchyroll: Winter Season Simulcasts [30/12/2013]

Joey Hancock December 30, 2013 1

So the Winter season is kicking off this week and along with all the series that are carrying over, Crunchyroll has many more up their sleeves.

You can check out the other simulcasts here.

First off today we have Nobunaga the Fool which will begin streaming on January 5.

The East Star and the West Star… It is said that the separated stars were once connected by the supernatural chain called the “Dragon Stream.” Both stars enjoyed their own prosperity, but such a peaceful period came to end. They come to be bombarded by chaotic vibration of time, and entered into a series of war. Joanne d’Arc is born to save the world, the only person knowing the reanimation of a transcendence technology called “Shinki,” meaning God’s vessel. She foresees an emergence of deliverer and makes her way to the East, together with Leonardo da Vinci, the man of the insight. In the East, her foresight of “deliverer” refers to the most delinquent guy, Nobunaga Oda. Is Nobunaga is the true deliverer? Or, is he only the devastator?

Starting on Sunday, January 5 at 12:15pm Pacific Time, Nobunaga the Fool will be available to Crunchyroll members in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand.

Nobunaga looks very interesting, I am quite happy about this one. I wonder what this will bring to the action/adventure genre.

Next up we have Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time, starting on January 5.

Originally based on a manga written and illustrated by Takuma Morishige, Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Timecenters around student Rumi Yokoi and her enigmatic desk mate, Toshinari Seki. Although Seki is constantly playing incredibly elaborate games at his desk instead of paying attention in class, he is somehow never caught, and Rumi can’t help but observe his many ways of slacking off during class.

Premium members can watch WORLDWIDE ex Asia, and free members can watch in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.

Yay another slice of life anime… I cannot say im surprised or disappointed. The genre seems to be a huge hit these days and it seems we have a brilliant cast to support this series, are you ready?

Thirdly, we have The Pilots Love Song set to air January 6.

“As a beautiful daughter of the noble family del Moral, Fana was proposed by Prince Carlo, who is the crown prince of their country Levamme. However, since Levamme is at war with Amatsuvian, the marriage had to wait until the war ends. Meanwhile, as a bestado, the lowest caste in Levamme, Charles had always dreamed of flying and eventually became the ace pilot of the air force. Although he was often mistreated, a glorious chance came about when the Amatsuvian bombarded del Moral’s home in order to get rid of the future empress. Charles was then entrusted with the top secret mission of delivering the princess to the prince.”

The Pilots Love Song will be available to users in the following territories: United States of America, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, South America, United Kingdom, Ireland, German speaking Europe, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

The Pilots Love Song is set to broadcast every Monday starting on January 6 at 7:00 am Pacific Time for its premium members.

Now this is something I can dig my claws into. I have always been a fan of the romance/fantasy genre, I think The Pilots Love Song has the potential to be a great series this season.

Finally, we have Soni-Ani SUPER SONICO THE ANIMATION, which will begin airing January 6.

An original anime based on gaming company Nitroplus’ popular mascot, Sonico, Soni-AniSUPER SONICO THE ANIMATION features the titular character in a comedic slice-of-life series. Sonico’s backstory has her as a college student who somehow also manages to juggle being a model, game character, and a musician in a three-piece girl band as the vocalist and guitarist.

Soni-AniSUPER SONICO THE ANIMATION will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Latin America, Spain, Portugal, the Middle East, Turkey, Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, France, and DOM-TOM, Andorra, Netherlands, Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco.

SUPER SONICO THE ANIMATION is set to broadcast every Monday starting on January 6, at 9:00am Pacific Time for its premium members, with free members able to watch one week later.

I’m not too sure about this one, it looks like it could be about fan service mainly but we will have to wait and see. This concludes todays Simulcast Update.

Tonari no Seki-kun isn’t a slice of life, it’s a comedy short. It doesn’t really revolve about real life in any way :3
