Borderlands 2: Mechromancer DLC

Marshall Burrows October 9, 2012 0

Gearbox have decided to release The Mechromancer DLC for Borderlands 2 a week early, aren’t we lucky!

If you had pre-ordered Borderlands 2 you will have been given a free pass to the Premiere club and although Gearbox had said that the Mechromancer DLC would be released on the 16th October it has been released today (9th October). Now if you’re like me, when I heard the news i just could not wait to get home and install it and fortunately I’ve had the opportunity to play some as well. If you didn’t get the pre-order bonus you will be able to buy the premiere club for either 800 Microsoft points for Xbox 360 or $9.99 for PlayStation 3.

I have made it to level 7 so far so have been given the chance to have a brief introduction with Deathtrap and I really like the way he plays. Deathtrap essentially just fights for you  and as you progress further down the skill trees, he and Gaige get a lot more awesome. I have decided to go down the Best Friends Forever tree because there is a health regeneration skill straight off the bat and further down there is what I believe to be a really beneficial skill that when you or Deathtrap kill an enemy, Deathtraps duration increases.  I have also looked at the character customisation for Gaige and I like the different skins but I am not too fond of the different heads so I stick to the default option, this could just me.

If you have got the premier club already but do not have the chance to play for a few days, you should definitely look at her skill tree on the Borderlands 2 website (I will put a link below) as it will give you a nice first glimpse at what you may want to do.

There have been some reports of bugs after downloading this DLC so you should be aware of them. The bugs that I know of are as follows; After downloaded the DLC won’t play, Bad-ass points get reset, and there have also been reports of full game saves being deleted. I knew this before I downloaded the DLC but still went ahead with it and everything works fine so if you want to risk it then go for it, but if you’re the safe type you should definitely wait until some sort of patch has been made.
