Synopsis & Opening Comments

“The Daimatou Enbu is reaching its climax!! Now that Gajeel beat rogue, the remaining battles are “Erza vs Minerva”, “Gray & Juvia vs Lyon & Cheria”, “Laxus vs Jura”!! Against so many formidable opponents, Fairy Tail feels slightly inferior but still keeps on fighting fiercely!! Jura of the 10 Saints, Laxus’ Opponent, is even said to be the strongest human wizard because of his power!! Trusting his fists, Laxus begins the counter attack!?”

This week we are one chapter away from finishing possibly the biggest battles in Fairy Tail to date,  next week will be a 36 page chapter to conclude the Daimatou Enbu, I wonder where we will go from there? This week is more focused on Laxus vs Jura but it does not fail to bring the spirit of the rest of the Fairy Tail team up! We will see Fairy Tails final stand to win the Daimatou Enbu, but is that what really matters at the moment? Shouldn’t we be more concerned with the Eclipse Gate?

The Master is shocked at Laxus' power, where will it take him in the future?

The Master is shocked at Laxus’ power, where will it take him in the future?

This week starts with Laxus and Jura having a fight to push their limits, never have I seen Laxus so formidable, especially when he is up against one of the 10 Wizard Saints and possibly considered the strongest Human Wizard. Throughout the fight Laxus is able to keep up with Jura and because of this he leaves the Master shocked but Mavis on the other hand is more considerate that this is the new generation that will lead Fairy Tail into the future. In the midst of the battle they both stand and compliment eachother, not knowing the battle would be this serious and at this point Laxus decides to steal Natsu’s renowned quote, “I’m getting fired up.”, They then decide to fight until one of them falls.

Next we have a short 4 panels showing the situation with Natsu and the gang and it just seems to show them trying to hold off the Magic Defense Squad. Moving onto Erza vs Minerva. Erza is in a situation where one of her legs is completely done for, but she stands on it with sheer willpower, claiming that she will stand as many times needed until she wins because Minerva has angered the wrong Guild. At this point Minerva uses her Spacial Magic to strike Erza although she sees right through it and moves through the dust to surprise Minerva, and she strikes her with some powerful slashes. Then Erza is at the point where she pretty much has no energy but she uses something called “Second Origin”, which I am guessing is one of her armour skills, and it gives her some sweet armour called, “The Armor of Nakagami” which sounds pretty awesome and looks even better.

Eventually we get onto Gray & Juvia, who are just about beaten and on the ground. Lyon apologizing to Juvia for what is about to happen and Cheria wanting to deal the finishing blow. At this point Gray and Juvia rise to their feet hand in hand and Gray says to Juvia, “Lets use our Full Magic!”, meaning that they still have a lot of fight left in them, how will this battle conclude next week?

Finally we see Laxus knocking Jura off of his feet with one final blow, and I cannot help but notice that Mavis had a huge part this week, if this was in the anime, it would be a point where Mavis is narrating over the battles, saying things like “Go forward Youths of Fairy Tail”.

The Armor of Nakagami has finally been released, Erza now gets serious.

Closing Comments

This week shown a great load of battles and how Fairy Tail can overcome anything. Once again Fairy Tail never ceases to amaze me in its releases, for a mainstream manga it sure as hell is beating Naruto and Bleach as of late.

Having said that, the fact is that we still are not seeing enough of the Natsu situation, its getting a bit much lately, but I am sure next week in the 36 page chapter we will see a hell of a lot of Natsu Dragneel.

The Verdict

8Great

The Good: Some excellent battles and a great show of Fairy Tails determination.

The Bad: Lack of Natsu has been a slight issue as of late but it doesn’t really effect the score too much.
